How does Looplingo work?
Looplingo teaches you real, complete sentences instead of isolated vocabulary. Pick a theme (restaurant, transport, hotel, family…), review its sentences, and the app tracks your progress card by card. Every review is scored, so the app automatically prioritizes the sentences you struggle with most.Do I need to create an account?
No. Looplingo works entirely without an account or sign-up. All your data — progress, scores, favorites — stays stored locally on your device.Is Looplingo really free?
Yes. The free version is not a limited demo: you get 4 full themes, every language pair, and all three review modes, with no time limit.
Languages
Which languages does Looplingo support?
Five languages are built in: French, Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean. Every combination works in both directions — for example French → Japanese, Japanese → French, Chinese → Korean, or English → Chinese. Choose any language you speak, learn any language you want.Can I request a new language?
Yes, please! We're actively working on adding more languages. Send your suggestions — we read every request.
Review Modes
What are the three review modes?
- Cards — flip the card and rate yourself honestly.
- Multiple choice quiz — pick the correct translation out of four options, with visual and haptic feedback.
- Priority mode — a smart session combining your difficult sentences and your favorites.How does the scoring system work?
There's no black-box algorithm. Every correct answer brings a sentence closer to "acquired," and every mistake pushes it back. Understanding a sentence and producing it are tracked as two separate skills, each with its own progress.What is the mastery threshold?
It's the score a sentence needs to reach before being marked "acquired," adjustable from 1 to 100 in Settings. Raise it if you want to memorize more thoroughly; lower it if you want to move faster through the app.Can I redo a theme I've already mastered?
Yes — mastered themes stay fully replayable at any time.
Favorites & Personalization
How do favorites work?
Tap the heart icon on any sentence that keeps tripping you up. Priority mode will always put your favorites — along with sentences the app automatically detects as fragile — at the front of your next session.Can I add my own sentences?
Yes, with Looplingo Pro. You can import custom sentence packs in JSON format, loaded directly from a URL.
